Разведка
Классе в 9 шел с курсов по математике и очень сильно прижало пукнуть. Иду под домом и ну, думаю ладно, дам слабину, но сначала оглянусь. Посмотрел по сторонам - вроде никого. Ну и пукнул и получилось довольно таки громко, а чего мне бояться, я же один иду. Как тут услышал голос сверку, который говорит мне: "Хуево разведочка проведена". Посмотрел наверх, а там дед на балконе стоял и курил. Ну тут я и побежал.

Поэма «Анджело»
Часть первая I
В одном из городов Италии счастливой
Когда-то властвовал предобрый, старый Дук,
Народа своего отец чадолюбивый,
Друг мира, истины, художеств и наук.
Но власть верховная не терпит слабых рук,
А доброте своей он слишком предавался.
Народ любил его и вовсе не боялся.
В суде его дремал карающий закон,
Как дряхлый зверь уже к ловитве неспособный.
Дук это чувствовал в душе своей незлобной
И часто сетовал. Сам ясно видел он,
Что хуже дедушек с дня на день были внуки,
Что грудь кормилицы ребенок уж кусал,
Что правосудие сидело сложа руки
И по носу его ленивый не щелкал.
II
Нередко добрый Дук, раскаяньем смущенный,
Хотел восстановить порядок упущенный;
Но как? Зло явное, терпимое давно,
Молчанием суда уже дозволено,
И вдруг его казнить совсем несправедливо
И странно было бы — тому же особливо,
Кто первый сам его потворством ободрял.
Что делать? долго Дук терпел и размышлял;
Размыслив наконец, решился он на время
Предать иным рукам верховной власти бремя,
Чтоб новый властелин расправой новой мог
Порядок вдруг завесть и был бы крут и строг.
III
Был некто Анджело, муж опытный, не новый
В искусстве властвовать, обычаем суровый,
Бледнеющий в трудах, ученье и посте,
За нравы строгие прославленный везде,
Стеснивший весь себя оградою законной,
С нахмуренным лицом и с волей непреклонной;
Его-то старый Дук наместником нарек,
И в ужас ополчил и милостью облек,
Неограниченны права ему вручая.
А сам, докучного вниманья избегая,
С народом не простясь, incognito, один
Пустился странствовать, как древний паладин.
IV
Лишь только Анджело вступил во управленье,
И всё тотчас другим порядком потекло,
Пружины ржавые опять пришли в движенье,
Законы поднялись, хватая в когти зло,
На полных площадях, безмолвных от боязни,
По пятницам пошли разыгрываться казни,
И ухо стал себе почесывать народ
И говорить: «Эхе! да этот уж не тот».
V
Между законами забытыми в ту пору
Жестокий был один: закон сей изрекал
Прелюбодею смерть. Такого приговору
В том городе никто не помнил, не слыхал.
Угрюмый Анджело в громаде уложенья
Отрыл его — и в страх повесам городским
Опять его на свет пустил для исполненья,
Сурово говоря помощникам своим:
«Пора нам зло пугнуть. В балованном народе
Преобратилися привычки уж в права
И шмыгают кругом закона на свободе,
Как мыши около зевающего льва.
Закон не должен быть пужало из тряпицы,
На коем наконец уже садятся птицы».
VI
Так Анджело на всех навел невольно дрожь,
Роптали вообще, смеялась молодежь
И в шутках строгого вельможи не щадила,
Меж тем как ветрено над бездною скользила,
И первый под топор беспечной головой
Попался Клавдио, патриций молодой.
В надежде всю беду со временем исправить
И не любовницу, супругу в свет представить,
Джюльету нежную успел он обольстить
И к таинствам любви безбрачной преклонить.
Но их последствия к несчастью явны стали;
Младых любовников свидетели застали,
Ославили в суде взаимный их позор,
И юноше прочли законный приговор.
VII
Несчастный, выслушав жестокое решенье,
С поникшей головой обратно шел в тюрьму,
Невольно каждому внушая сожаленье
И горько сетуя. На встречу вдруг ему
Попался Луцио, гуляка беззаботный,
Повеса, вздорный враль, но малый доброхотный.
«Друг, — молвил Клавдио, — молю! не откажи:
Сходи ты в монастырь к сестре моей. Скажи,
Что должен я на смерть идти; чтоб поспешила
Она спасти меня, друзей бы упросила,
Иль даже бы пошла к наместнику сама.
В ней много, Луцио, искусства и ума,
Бог дал ее речам уверчивость и сладость,
К тому ж и без речей рыдающая младость
Мягчит сердца людей». — «Изволь! поговорю»,
Гуляка отвечал, и сам к монастырю
Тотчас отправился.
VIII
Младая Изабела
В то время с важною монахиней сидела.
Постричься через день она должна была
И разговор о том со старицей вела.
Вдруг Луцио звонит и входит. У решетки
Его приветствует, перебирая четки,
Полузатворница: «Кого угодно вам?»
— Девица (и судя по розовым щекам,
Уверен я, что вы девица в самом деле),
Не льзя ли доложить прекрасной Изабеле,
Что к ней меня прислал ее несчастный брат?
«Несчастный?.. почему? что с ним? скажите смело:
Я Клавдио сестра». — Нет, право? очень рад.
Он кланяется вам сердечно. Вот в чем дело:
Ваш брат в тюрьме. - «За что?» - За то, за что бы я
Благодарил его, красавица моя,
И не было б ему иного наказанья. —
(Тут он в подробные пустился описанья,
Немного жесткие своею наготой
Для девственных ушей отшельницы младой,
Но со вниманием всё выслушала дева
Без приторных причуд стыдливости и гнева.
Она чиста была душою как эфир.
Ее смутить не мог неведомый ей мир
Своею суетой и праздными речами.)
- Теперь, - примолвил он, - осталось лишь мольбами
Вам тронуть Анджело, и вот о чем просил
Вас братец. — «Боже мой, — девица отвечала, —
Когда б от слов моих я пользы ожидала!..
Но сомневаюся; во мне не станет сил...»
— Сомненья нам враги, — тот с жаром возразил, —
Нас неудачею предатели стращают
И благо верное достать не допущают.
Ступайте к Анджело, и знайте от меня,
Что если девица, колена преклоня
Перед мужчиною, и просит и рыдает,
Как бог он все дает, чего ни пожелает.
IX
Девица, отпросясь у матери честной,
С усердным Луцио к вельможе поспешила
И, на колена встав, смиренною мольбой
За брата своего наместника молила.
«Девица, — отвечал суровый человек, —
Спасти его нельзя; твой брат свой отжил век;
Он должен умереть». Заплакав, Изабела
Склонилась перед ним и прочь идти хотела,
Но добрый Луцио девицу удержал.
«Не отступайтесь так, — он тихо ей сказал, —
Просите вновь его; бросайтесь на колени,
Хватайтеся за плащ, рыдайте; слезы, пени,
Все средства женского искусства вы должны
Теперь употребить. Вы слишком холодны,
Как будто речь идет меж вами про иголку.
Конечно, если так, не будет, верно, толку.
Не отставайте же! еще!»

Она опять
Усердною мольбой стыдливо умолять
Жестокосердого блюстителя закона.
«Поверь мне, — говорит, — ни царская корона,
Ни меч наместника, ни бархат судии,
Ни полководца жезл — все почести сии —
Земных властителей ничто не украшает,
Как милосердие. Оно их возвышает.
Когда б во власть твою мой брат был облечен,
А ты был Клавдио, ты мог бы пасть как он,
Но брат бы не был строг, как ты».
XI
Ее укором
Смущен был Анджело. Сверкая мрачным взором,
«Оставь меня, прошу», — сказал он тихо ей.
Но дева скромная и жарче и смелей
Была час от часу. «Подумай, — говорила, —
Подумай, если тот, чья праведная сила
Прощает и целит, судил бы грешных нас
Без милосердия; скажи: что было б с нами?
Подумай — и любви услышишь в сердце глас,
И милость нежная твоими дхнет устами,
И новый человек ты будешь».
XII
Он в ответ:
«Поди; твои мольбы пустая слов утрата.
Не я, закон казнит. Спасти нельзя мне брата,
И завтра он умрет».
Изабела
Как завтра! что? нет, нет.
Он не готов еще, казнить его не можно...
Ужели господу пошлем неосторожно
Мы жертву наскоро. Мы даже и цыплят
Не бьем до времени. Так скоро не казнят.
Спаси, спаси его: подумай в самом деле,
Ты знаешь, государь, несчастный осужден
За преступление, которое доселе
Прощалось каждому; постраждет первый он.
Анджело
Закон не умирал, но был лишь в усыпленье,
Теперь проснулся он.
Изабела
Будь милостив!
Анджело
Нельзя.
Потворствовать греху есть то же преступленье,
Карая одного, спасаю многих я.
Изабела
Ты ль первый изречешь сей приговор ужасный?
И первой жертвою мой будет брат несчастный.
Нет, нет! будь милостив. Ужель душа твоя
Совсем безвинная? спросись у ней: ужели
И мысли грешные в ней отроду не тлели?
XIII
Невольно он вздрогнул, поникнул головой
И прочь идти хотел. Она: «Постой, постой!
Послушай, воротись. Великими дарами
Я задарю тебя... прими мои дары,
Они не суетны, но честны и добры,
И будешь ими ты делиться с небесами:
Я одарю тебя молитвами души
Пред утренней зарей, в полунощной тиши,
Молитвами любви, смирения и мира,
Молитвами святых, угодных небу дев,
В уединении умерших уж для мира,
Живых для господа».
Смущен и присмирев,
Он ей свидание на завтра назначает
И в отдаленные покои поспешает.
Часть вторая I
День целый Анджело, безмолвный и угрюмый,
Сидел, уединясь, объят одною думой,
Одним желанием; всю ночь не тронул сон
Усталых вежд его. «Что ж это? — мыслит он, —
Ужель ее люблю, когда хочу так сильно
Услышать вновь ее и взор мой усладить
Девичьей прелестью? По ней грустит умильно
Душа... или когда святого уловить
Захочет бес, тогда приманкою святою
И манит он на крюк? Нескромной красотою
Я не был отроду к соблазнам увлечен,
И чистой девою теперь я побежден.
Влюбленный человек доселе мне казался
Смешным, и я его безумству удивлялся.
А ныне!..»
II
Размышлять, молиться хочет он,
Но мыслит, молится рассеянно. Словами
Он небу говорит, а волей и мечтами
Стремится к ней одной. В унынье погружен,
Устами праздными жевал он имя бога,
А в сердце грех кипел. Душевная тревога
Его осилила. Правленье для него,
Как дельная, давно затверженная книга,
Несносным сделалось. Скучал он; как от ига,
Отречься был готов от сана своего;
А важность мудрую, которой столь гордился,
Которой весь народ бессмысленно дивился,
Ценил он ни во что и сравнивал с пером,
Носимым в воздухе летучим ветерком...

По утру к Анджело явилась Изабела
И странный разговор с наместником имела.
III
Анджело
Что скажешь?
Изабела
Волю я твою пришла узнать.
Анджело
Ах, если бы ее могла ты угадать!..
Твой брат не должен жить... а мог бы.
Изабела
Почему же
Простить нельзя его?
Анджело
Простить? что в мире хуже
Столь гнусного греха? убийство легче.
Изабела
Да,
Так судят в небесах, но на земле когда?
Анджело
Ты думаешь? так вот тебе предположенье:
Что если б отдали тебе на разрешенье
Оставить брата влечь ко плахе на убой,
Иль искупить его, пожертвовав собой
И плоть предав греху?
Изабела
Скорее, чем душою,
Я плотью жертвовать готова.
Анджело
Я с тобою
Теперь не о душе толкую... дело в том:
Брат осужден на казнь; его спасти грехом
Не милосердие ль?
Изабела
Пред богом я готова
Душою отвечать: греха в том никакого,
Поверь, и нет. Спаси ты брата моего!
Тут милость, а не грех.
Анджело
Спасешь ли ты его,
Коль милость на весах равно с грехом потянет?
Изабела
О пусть моим грехом спасенье брата станет!
(Коль только это грех.) О том готова я
Молиться день и ночь.
Анджело
Нет, выслушай меня,
Или ты слов моих совсем не понимаешь,
Или понять меня нарочно избегаешь,
Я проще изъяснюсь: твой брат приговорен.
Изабела
Так.
Анджело
Смерть изрек ему решительно закон.
Изабела
Так точно.
Анджело
Средство есть одно к его спасенью.
(Все это клонится к тому предположенью,
И только есть вопрос и больше ничего.)
Положим: тот, кто б мог один спасти его
(Наперсник судии, иль сам по сану властный
Законы толковать, мягчить их смысл ужасный),
К тебе желаньем был преступным воспален
И требовал, чтоб ты казнь брата искупила
Своим падением; не то — решит закон.
Что скажешь? как бы ты в уме своем решила?
Изабела
Для брата, для себя решилась бы скорей,
Поверь, как яхонты носить рубцы бичей
И лечь в кровавый гроб спокойно, как на ложе,
Чем осквернить себя.
Анджело
Твой брат умрет.
Изабела
Так что же?
Он лучший путь себе, конечно, изберет.
Бесчестием сестры души он не спасет.
Брат лучше раз умри, чем гибнуть мне навечно.
Анджело
За что ж казалося тебе бесчеловечно
Решение суда? Ты обвиняла нас
В жестокосердии. Давно ль еще? Сейчас
Ты праведный закон тираном называла,
А братний грех едва ль не шуткой почитала.
Изабела
Прости, прости меня. Невольно я душой
Тогда лукавила. Увы! себе самой
Противуречила я, милое спасая
И ненавистное притворно извиняя.
Мы слабы.
Анджело
Я твоим признаньем ободрен.
Так женщина слаба, я в этом убежден
И говорю тебе: будь женщина, не боле —
Иль будешь ничего. Так покорися воле
Судьбы своей.
Изабела
Тебя я не могу понять.
Анджело
Поймешь: люблю тебя.
Изабела
Увы! что мне сказать?
Джюльету брат любил, и он умрет, несчастный.
Анджело
Люби меня, и жив он будет.
Изабела
Знаю: властный
Испытывать других, ты хочешь...
Анджело
Нет, клянусь,
От слова моего теперь не отопрусь;

По строгости моей известен свету я;
Молва всеобщая, мой сан, вся жизнь моя
И самый приговор над братней головою
Представят твой донос безумной клеветою.
Теперь я волю дал стремлению страстей.
Подумай и смирись пред волею моей;
Брось эти глупости: и слезы, и моленья,
И краску робкую. От смерти, от мученья
Тем брата не спасешь. Покорностью одной
Искупишь ты его от плахи роковой.
До завтра от тебя я стану ждать ответа.
И знай, что твоего я не боюсь извета.
Что хочешь говори, не пошатнуся я.
Всю истину твою низвергнет ложь моя.
IV
Сказал и вышел вон, невинную девицу
Оставя в ужасе. Поднявши к небесам
Молящий, ясный взор и чистую десницу,
От мерзостных палат спешит она в темницу.
Дверь отворилась ей; и брат ее глазам
Представился.
V
В цепях, в унынии глубоком,
О светских радостях стараясь не жалеть,
Еще надеясь жить, готовясь умереть,
Безмолвен он сидел, и с ним в плаще широком
Под черным куколем с распятием в руках
Согбенный старостью беседовал монах.
Старик доказывал страдальцу молодому,
Что смерть и бытие равны одна другому,
Что здесь и там одна бессмертная душа
И что подлунный мир не стоит ни гроша.
С ним бедный Клавдио печально соглашался,
А в сердце милою Джюльетой занимался.
Отшельница вошла: «Мир вам!» — очнулся он
И смотрит на сестру, мгновенно оживлен.
«Отец мой, — говорит монаху Изабела, —
Я с братом говорить одна бы здесь хотела».
Монах оставил их.
VI
Клавдио
Что ж, милая сестра,
Что скажешь?
Изабела
Милый брат, пришла тебе пора.
Клавдио
Так нет спасенья?
Изабела
Нет, иль разве поплатиться
Душой за голову?
Клавдио
Так средство есть одно?
Изабела
Так, есть. Ты мог бы жить. Судья готов смягчиться.
В нем милосердие бесовское: оно
Тебе дарует жизнь за узы муки вечной.
Клавдио
Что? вечная тюрьма?
Изабела
Тюрьма — хоть без оград,
Без цепи.
Клавдио
Изъяснись, что ж это?
Изабела
Друг сердечный,
Брат милый! Я боюсь... Послушай, милый брат,
Семь, восемь лишних лет ужель тебе дороже
Всегдашней чести? Брат, боишься ль умереть?
Что чувство смерти? миг. И много ли терпеть?
Раздавленный червяк при смерти терпит то же,
Что терпит великан.

Сестра! или я трус?
Или идти на смерть во мне не станет силы?
Поверь, без трепета от мира отрешусь,
Коль должен умереть; и встречу ночь могилы,
Как деву милую.
Изабела
Вот брат мой! узнаю;
Из гроба слышу я отцовский голос. Точно:
Ты должен умереть; умри же беспорочно.
Послушай, ничего тебе не утаю:
Тот грозный судия, святоша тот жестокий,
Чьи взоры строгие во всех родят боязнь,
Чья избранная речь шлет отроков на казнь,
Сам демон; сердце в нем черно, как ад глубокий,
И полно мерзостью.

Его в свою броню. Лукавый человек!..

И всё, что грезится отчаянной мечте...
Нет, нет: земная жизнь в болезни, в нищете,
В печалях, в старости, в неволе... будет раем
В сравненье с тем, чего за гробом ожидаем.

О боже!
Клавдио
Друг ты мой! Сестра! позволь мне жить.
Уж если будет грех спасти от смерти брата,
Природа извинит.
Изабела
Что смеешь говорить?
Трус! тварь бездушная! от сестрина разврата
Себе ты жизни ждешь!.. Кровосмеситель! нет,
Я думать не могу, нельзя, чтоб жизнь и свет
Моим отцом тебе даны. Прости мне, боже!
Нет, осквернила мать отеческое ложе,
Коль понесла тебя! Умри. Когда бы я
Спасти тебя могла лишь волею моею,
То всё-таки б теперь свершилась казнь твоя.
Я тысячу молитв за смерть твою имею,

И узник молодой
Удерживал ее за платье. Изабела
От гнева своего насилу охладела,
И брата бедного простила, и опять,
Лаская, начала страдальца утешать.
Часть третия I
Монах стоял меж тем за дверью отпертою
И слышал разговор меж братом и сестрою.
Пора мне вам сказать, что старый сей монах
Не что иное был, как Дук переодетый.
Пока народ считал его в чужих краях
И сравнивал, шутя, с бродящею кометой,
Скрывался он в толпе, всё видел, наблюдал
И соглядатаем незримым посещал
Палаты, площади, монастыри, больницы,
Развратные дома, театры и темницы.
Воображение живое Дук имел;
Романы он любил, и может быть, хотел
Халифу подражать Гаруну Аль-Рашиду.
Младой отшельницы подслушав весь рассказ,
В растроганном уме решил он тот же час
Не только наказать жестокость и обиду,
Но сладить кое-что... Он тихо в дверь вошел,
Девицу отозвал и в уголок отвел.
«Я слышал всё, — сказал, — ты похвалы достойна,
Свой долг исполнила ты свято; но теперь
Предайся ж ты моим советам. Будь покойна,
Всё к лучшему придет; послушна будь и верь».
Тут он ей объяснил свое предположенье
И дал прощальное свое благословенье.
II
Друзья! поверите ль, чтоб мрачное чело,
Угрюмой, злой души печальное зерцало,
Желанья женские навеки привязало
И нежной красоте понравиться могло?
Не чудно ли? Но так. Сей Анджело надменный,
Сей злобный человек, сей грешник — был любим
Душою нежною, печальной и смиренной,
Душой, отверженной мучителем своим.
Он был давно женат. Летунья легкокрила,
Младой его жены молва не пощадила,
Без доказательства насмешливо коря;
И он ее прогнал, надменно говоря:
«Пускай себе молвы неправо обвиненье,
Нет нужды. Не должно коснуться подозренье
К супруге кесаря». С тех пор она жила
Одна в предместии, печально изнывая.
Об ней-то вспомнил Дук, и дева молодая
По наставлению монаха к ней пошла.
III
Марьяна под окном за пряжею сидела
И тихо плакала. Как ангел, Изабела
Пред ней нечаянно явилась у дверей.
Отшельница была давно знакома с ней
И часто утешать несчастную ходила.
Монаха мысль она ей тотчас объяснила.
Марьяна, только лишь настанет ночи мгла,
К палатам Анджело идти должна была,
В саду с ним встретиться под каменной оградой
И, наградив его условленной наградой,
Чуть внятным шепотом, прощаяся, шепнуть
Лишь только то: теперь о брате не забудь.
Марьяна бедная сквозь слезы улыбалась,
Готовилась дрожа — и дева с ней рассталась.
IV
Всю ночь в темнице Дук последствий ожидал
И, сидя с Клавдио, страдальца утешал.
Пред светом снова к ним явилась Изабела.
Всё шло как надобно: сейчас у ней сидела

Why Cardio Doesn’t Work
so perfectly well for all men and women, but as anyone who has
tried it knows, the practicality of it just doesn't add up.
After all, some men and women do cardio 6 hours, 9 hours, or more
per week, and still have belly fat to burn. On the other hand, it
works just fine for others.
British researchers wanted to get more insight into this paradox,
and studied 35 overweight men and women, who weren't previously
exercising.
(Reference: International Journal of Obesity 32: 177-184, 2008).
Subjects exercised 5 times per week for 12 weeks. That's a lot of
exercise, but it helped the subjects lose an average of 8.2 pounds,
which is great - I was positively surprised by the results.
So cardio will work for some people, however, in my experience, it
works best in young men, who need the help the least!
Back to the study, the variance in fat loss between individuals was
huge. Check this out...
The best subject lost a staggering 32.3 pounds in 12 weeks, while
the worst subject actually GAINED 3.74 pounds.
The scientists think they know where things went sour. They
classified the subjects into 2 groups, called the "Compensators"
and the "Non-compensators".
The Compensators were hungrier, and as a result consumed an extra
268 calories per day, all but wiping out their cardio efforts.
Therefore, the Compensators lost the least amount of weight, and
scientists believe that was due to the huge "compensatory" increase
in appetite experienced by this group.
Does your appetite increase when you do slow cardio? If it does,
research shows it will ruin your cardio efforts.
So if your cardio program is not working for you, check your
appetite and calorie intake to see if you are "compensating" for
your efforts. If you are, you might be better off using a program
of high-intensity resistance and interval training (i.e. Turbulence
Training) for your weight loss efforts.
As Australian Professor Steve Boucher has shown in research,
interval training increases hormones called catecholamines. And
increased catecholamines can reduce appetite, among other fat-
burning benefits.
In the real world, few people lose 33 pounds after 12 weeks of
cardio. Heck, few even achieve an average weight loss of 8 pounds
with aerobic exercise.
So again, check your appetite, and consider giving high-intensity
exercise a go for your next workout program.

Which Workout Should I Use?
With Turbulence Training for Fat Loss, there are a lot of workouts

What is Turbulence Training?

Answer:
I agree with your trainer. It IS possible. With the right program,
great nutrition, and a positive attitude, you can achieve
incredible changes.
With the right exercise and nutrition program you can maximize the
benefits of your hormones to gain muscle and lose fat, all at the

This answer could be the subject of a whole book, and maybe some

Top 5 Fat Loss Myths
After all, by now you've probably heard that if you don't do 60-minutes of cardio in your fat burning zone on an empty stomach while Venus is in line with Jupiter, you'll never burn fat.
The problem with myths is that not only are they wrong and give false hope to millions of people trying to lose weight, but they also waste your time and mental effort.
I have also seen these myths used as justification for cheating on a diet, watching countless men and women justify their "treats" because they believe they are on some type of magical exercise program or nutrition plan.
I could go on for days about fitness myths, but I cut my list from 30 down to the Top 5 Fat Loss Workout Myths today. I'll save the other 25 for future newsletters.
Myth #1: You have to do cardio first thing in the morning on an empty stomach.
Relax. You don't have to hop on the treadmill at 4:30am every morning. Let's allow common sense to dictate when and how you exercise.
If you want to work out first thing in the morning, and I know that is the best time for many TT readers, by all means, go ahead and do it. There's nothing magical about this time - although it is often the only time many of day many people have to themselves.
We need to think "outside of the hour" of exercise and realize that calorie burning and fat burning goes on for 24-hours. Forget about the theories and look at the big picture.
It doesn't matter when you exercise - as long as you exercise intensely and consistently. Focus on relatively high-intensity workouts to increase your metabolism for as many hours after exercise as possible. That is best done with interval training and resistance training.
Myth #2: You have to do your cardio in your "fat burning zone".
Again, nonsense.
While you might burn a larger proportion of total calories as fat when you exercise in your fat burning zone, you burn fewer calories overall by exercising at such a low intensity.
When you increase your workout intensity and get out of your so-called "fat burning zone", you burn more total calories, and as a result, more fat.
In addition, the "fat burning zone" training doesn't put "turbulence" on your muscles...so you don't burn many calories in the post-exercise time period. But with interval training, you burn a significant amount of calories for hours after training, and that leads to more fat loss.
I've worked with hundreds of people that have avoided the fat burning zone while still managing to lose dozens of pounds of fat. The "fat burning zone" is one of the biggest fitness myths of all time.

Myth #3: You have to do cardio for 20 minutes before you burn fat.
When I hear this, I picture a fat-burning switch in my body that turns on only after I've been doing "cardio" for 20 minutes. But what if I only exercise for 19 minutes and 59 seconds? Are you telling me that I won't have burned any fat? That's ridiculous.
What if I did it on an empty stomach in the morning and in my target heart rate zone? (read that one sarcastically!)
I'll say it one last time. We need to be more concerned with our 24-hour metabolism, not how much fat or even how many calories are burned during the workout.
Myth 4: Drinking ice cold water will help you burn calories and lose fat.
Standing in line at the grocery store is a great place to pick up the latest fat loss myths. You'll also find this one all over the Internet.
This myth often comes along with some calculations showing that by drinking 8 glasses of ice-cold water you can burn 70 calories per day. I don't believe that actually holds true in real life. Regardless, drinking cold water is not going to burn any more fat off your body than drinking room temperature water.
Don't get me wrong, I strongly believe you should drink 12 glasses of water per day, but the temperature of your water won't have any effect on your overall fat loss success.
Myth #5: Adding one pound of muscle will burn 50 extra calories each day.
Uh-oh, now I'm cutting down a myth that supports my use of strength training in a fat loss program. But I have an obligation to set the record straight about this extremely prevalent myth (even though I just saw a big name fitness expert perpetuate this myth in a recent article!).
This myth sounds so good. Add a pound of muscle, boost your metabolism 50 calories. That doesn't seem out of line at all.
But do the math for a guy that puts on 30 pounds of muscle. Does his metabolism really increase by 1500 calories? Absolutely not. For an average guy, that would require his resting metabolism to increase from 2500 calories to 4000 calories per day. How would he be able to keep any of that muscle with a metabolism like that? He'd have to eat like a pig forever.
So when you look at the big picture, you can see this little myth start to fall apart.
That's not to say you should stop your strength training, but just don't use this myth as an excuse to cheat on your diet.
Bonus Myth: Negative Calorie Foods Cause You to Lose Weight
According to the "experts", a negative calorie food requires more energy to digest than it provides you when you eat it. And included in the negative calorie food list are apples and bananas.
So by this logic, I would actually starve to death if I had nothing to eat but apples (because I would have a net energy loss from eating a so-called "negative calorie" food).
There is no such thing as a negative calorie food. It's a shame “experts” are out there promoting this stuff, and that so many people fall for it.
Instead, let the common sense fat loss principles apply. It's going to take consistent effort, working hard at your workouts and with your nutrition to get the results you want.
